Spirital: The Term That Points Beyond Meaning - And Why It Matters in Business
Lark Lauren 9.4.2026
Spirital entered my work not as a concept but as an experience. It was a received term, emerging during deep meditation, carrying a pulse of meaning before any definition appeared. Only later did the definition unfold, and even then it resisted the boundaries of language.
From my book - Glossary of Experience:
Spirital — The felt sense of spiritual experience beyond doctrine; a living pulse of meaning.
Spirital is not a doctrine, not a system, not a belief. It is a felt sense, something recognized before it is understood. This already places it close to non‑duality, because non‑dual insight is also recognized before it is explained.
Spirital has a definition and does not. It is intentional and not. It is a term that points beyond terms.
Why both polarities? Because Spirital enters the realm where language begins to dissolve, the same boundary Carl Jung encountered when trying to articulate concepts like tao, kamma, or satori. He sensed the edge of language, the point where words can no longer carry the experience they attempt to describe.
Spirital lives precisely at that edge.
The Spiral: A Symbol of Return and Convergence
The spiral is a recurring symbol in my books, especially The Tourniquet series. It is not a metaphor chosen for aesthetics; it is a structural symbol of consciousness itself.
From the Glossary of Experience, describing the spiral symbol:
A symbolic pathway of unfolding awareness, where movement is not linear but concentric, drawing the seeker inward toward a point of convergence. The spiral represents the journey toward truth, healing, or unity — requiring repeated returns, deeper focus, and surrender to rhythm.
The mind moves in spirals - loops of refinement, cycles of clarity and forgetting. As the vortex turns, a convergence point emerges: the non‑dual state described by Ramana Maharshi. The center is not reached, but remembered.
From The Tourniquet – A Hope That Never Dies:
But inevitably, the truth kept slipping through his fingers. Not because it wasn’t there—but because his focus faltered, unable to follow the spiral all the way to its converging point. Echoes pulled him sideways, away from the center. The spiral invited, but the noise intervened.
To walk the spiral is to return, again and again, until the center becomes familiar.
Spirital is the pulse that guides that return.
Why Spirital Leads Naturally to Non‑Duality
Spirital dissolves rigid definitions. Non‑duality dissolves rigid distinctions.
Both point toward a mode of clarity that arises when the mind stops dividing reality into opposing parts. Spirital is not a doctrine, but a movement toward unity. Non‑duality is not a belief; it is the recognition of unity.
This is why Spirital inevitably leads toward non‑dual insight:
- It resists fixed meaning.
- It points beyond conceptual boundaries.
- It invites direct experience rather than interpretation.
Spirital is the felt sense of coherence. Non‑duality is the recognition of coherence. Both dissolve fragmentation.
Why This Non‑Dual Perspective Matters in Business
This is the part that surprises people: non‑duality is not only relevant to consciousness. It is relevant to organizations.
A non‑dual perspective in business does not mean spirituality in the workplace. It means seeing the organization as one coherent system, not a collection of competing parts.
Fragmentation is the root of friction in companies:
- strategy vs. execution
- people vs. systems
- technology vs. purpose
- leadership vs. delivery
Non‑duality removes these artificial splits.
It allows leaders to see:
- alignment instead of conflict
- connection instead of complexity
- purpose instead of pressure
- architecture instead of chaos
This is why Spirital for Business exists.
Spirital provides the felt sense of coherence. Non‑duality provides the framework for coherence. Business gains the clarity of coherence.
When leaders operate from unity rather than fragmentation, technology becomes coherent, teams become aligned, and decisions become clear. The organization stops fighting itself.
Non‑duality becomes practical.
Spirital becomes structural.
Business becomes clear.
The Essence
Spirital is the pulse of meaning. Non‑duality is the recognition of unity. Business clarity is what happens when leaders operate from that unity.
To walk the spiral - in consciousness or in business - is to return, again and again, until the center is not reached, but remembered.
